lippies again

When G went to London, he got for me these which are not sold here yet. i think YSL cosmetics will be back in SG by the end of the year but no news about Suqqu yet and its such a pity! :(

having said that, i am beyond excited about them brining in Tom Ford cosmetics at the end of the year too!

these two products below, are to me, must buys.

Suqqu eyeshadows are perfect for those of us who loves shimmer and translucence in the eyeshadow and if i am choosing the colors in person, i may just walk away with all the eyeshadow quads!
the earth tones in a suqqu quad never go on too strong and it works well on asian eyes.
they are sold in Bangkok so its not too far away but if you are really desperate, you can order them off Selfridges!

And this is the much raved about YSL lip stain.
i was excited about it but careful to only choose 2 colors which looked like it would work for me and i am kicking myself for not getting more of them.
these two colors complements most skin tone well ( i think )
they are very lasting and i could still see some colors after lunch. that makes it a winner because its such a bother to keep applying your lip stick.
Not a great fan of the smell of the product. ( but its something you could get used to after a few wear )

Lipsticks

The way i do my makeup have largely remained the same through the years but i have come to appreciate how fake eyelashes and lipsticks will have an impact on the overall look that is presented.

also, less is really more and i've been applying lesser and lesser foundation since about 2 years ago.
But when it comes to fake eyelash.... its a very thin line because the falsies just glams everything up so much that a person look very made up instantly with them on.
having said that, they are really one of the best beauty inventions.

for years, i have been relying on Dior Lipglow which i still love to death now.
very often, just a swipe with it is enough.
Dior Lipglow goes on a different shade on different people, according to the temperature of your body.
on me, its a pretty pink and another swipe of the lip maximizer is perfect for me.

however, recently, i've been playing around abit with lipsticks and am converted once again, because of Dior. ( love the Dior serum rouge and Dior addict lipstick to death )
the texture and shades which I've explored opened me up to some different looks which I've not been adventurous enough to try.

This is me in Dior serum rouge in 560 and the entire look is soft and casual. maybe it is also because i was in pastel colors and since i was only using a tinted moisturizer and loose powder, the face was not as bright.
Face : Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer , Laura Mercier loose powder

On one friday morning, i wanted to look a little more awake as i was in all black, i applied my Dior addict in Lucky and you can see how the look is transformed into a more sophisticated one even though i did have on the cle de peau tient fluid foundation and the cle de peak loose powder which is slightly shimmery.

Today, i'm in all dark colors again thus i decided to throw on something bright and cheery. my latest scarf from Gap and this would look better in pink lips than red ones.

i think the colors we are in affects our mood to a certain extent but accessories makes all the difference when you are in a dark color mood but yet want to feel more uplifted so throw in your accessories, put on the things that makes your day :)

one last thing.
to combat dry skin and to brighten your skin at the same time, try mixing a little pearl powder with the water sleeping pack. it works wonders.
i also mix them with body lotion and neck care cream when i'm not feeling lazy.
pearl powder can be found in the chinese medicinal halls. i bought mine in Taiwan.

Something new

I think I used the shu umuera makeup remover for a few good years before I moved on to kose oil makeup remover because after a while, I just don't think that the one from shu umuera is its job anymore. On some days, it felt as though I still had makeup on after cleansing my face.

I then proceeded to use 4 bottles of the makeup remover from kose which was working very well until one day, when I decided to try out the oil-gel makeup remover from Chanel.
It was very very good.
Everytime after cleansing the face, my face feels softer and more hydrated.
I never knew that this kind of radiance could come from using Any makeup remover.

Last week, J introduced me to this makeup remover.

It can be found at Watson for $19.90 and it's such a dream to use really!
Instead of the usual ones I have been using which requires me to rub the remover over my face in order to dissolve the makeup, this one only requires me to wipe off my makeup with the cotton pads.
It's such a novelty to me and I enjoy seeing the makeup removed from my face in this manner. Very refreshing! Haha!
So far, it's doing a good job and I find myself reaching out for it though I actually still have abit of the Chanel makeup remover left.

One of the thing which gets me very excited about travelling is how I can get my hands on cosmetics which are not available in sg.
Buying and trying out new cosmetics makes me very happy.
The level of happiness and contentment I get from it, I think many ladies will understand.
Very glad to say that my husband seems to understand it totally too and goes shopping with me for it :)
Sometimes.
But that's good enough :)

What is it about makeup that is sooo captivating to me? I have no idea.
Maybe it's the colors, the textures, the shimmers, the smell of them, anyway, I love them all so for my Europe trip, I had a mission which was to get some of Giorgio Armani's much raved about foundations back.
I also very much wanted some stuff from the Tom Ford makeup line.
I did not manage to get any Tom Ford makeup as I wasn't able to locate them but I got the GA luminous silk foundation as well as the very popular designer lift foundation.

The designer lift foundation is meant for more matured skin and though the coverage is good, it doesn't give much of a glow.
It's not one of my favourite.

The Luminous silk foundation, on the other hand, is an absolute beauty!
It is definitely high on my favourite list on the same position as the one from cdp.
It glides onto the skin, gives a good coverage and looks really natural though it is not as long lasting as tient fluid from cdp.
I would say that when the one from cdp lasts 12 hours, this one probably lasts 10.
But even at 10, it's freaking amazing!!!!
This is me in it, under the natural sunlight.

I also tried out the sheer blush from GA in no.6 and it's a really pretty and soft pink.
I usually wear pink blushers and the non pink one will be Nars orgasm which is a little peach in colour.
I use this one from GA as a highlight, something the lady from GA taught me and I regretted not getting more shades of them.
The pigment is awesome and the powder is really fine.

Here's a comparison of it with one of my favourite blusher, Angelique from Nars.

A comparison of it with super orgasm from Nars.
Ps: orgasm is one of the prettiest blushers around but the super orgasm which is another version of it is not that great.
The gold flakes are too big and it makes one looks like a disco ball instantly.
Good for dramatic nights.

Goodnight.
Sweetest dreams.

Colours

I think I've mentioned that naked palette 2 is already out and sold out by the way :( but review says that the colours are different so I went ahead to get naked 1 anyway!

K and I went for a jpot dinner before heading to the new sephora at vivocity.
Dinner at jpot is a highly addictive business and we even saw a guy who looked very much like this charming hk actor.
The pleasures of life :)

Buying makeup makes me so happy. Especially during this Xmas season where my shopping is accompanied by the lovely Xmas songs and those impossibly whimsical decoratives.

Make me up

Christmas always makes me feel like spending all my money because the world feels a little more whimsical and everything looks extra pretty.

So. I try to get my hands on all the pretty, sparkly stuff which only becomes available during this season.

Till date, I've gotten myself 3 sparkly tops. All of which I love to death! It's only during Xmas that you can walk around like a lightbulb and people won't find it that strange so best to make the most out of your situations.
Wear the sparkly tops!

The lovely palette I got today.

It even has a tutorial to guide you on the different looks that you can go for. Brilliant!

Urban decay and Nars are one of my fondest memories of makeup from sephora.
Used to love smash box too but grew out of it since a while ago.
For Nars, it's that insanely glittery blusher ( orgasm ) and for urban decay, it's their eyeshadows.
Pigments resembles those from Dior and Chanel.

The naked palette is still not available but Naked 2 is already out in the states. Excited!

Nude

Maybe it's just me but I often find lipsticks too drying and thus have been using the Dior's lipglow which is like a colored lipbalm for years. And years. And years.

Occasionally, I will put on a pale shade which is always nicer at home than when I'm out.

Today, G decided to join his friends for a birthday celebration, me, still in lots of makeup from R's wedding dinner, i decided to take out the Xmas (2010) palette which J gave me to try on a different look.

The usual safe colour I always go for.

The red I decided to try.

Conclusion : red lipstick makes everything stands out more. The rest of your makeup can remain the same but you will suddenly appear alot more striking.

However, it requires so much more maintenance so I guess I'm still sticking to my pale pink look :)

Update

Continued from previous post about berries yogurt mask from laneige.
I smeared the remaining all over the back of my hand and it looks alot more supple now.
Do that with all skincare products!!
Do not forget our aging hands!

Goodnight lovely people in this lovely universe.

Chanel new release

Got samples! Using their lipgloss alone does not create that glossy look. It's a little too dry and magnifies the lines on the lips instead.

Apply some of Dior lips maximizer instead before brushing on the lipgloss solves the probl and lips shine like mirrors!

Thin lips - not the best representation of lip products but I just wanna share.

Oh, the colours stay on really well too.

For hydrating effect without much of a trouble, always go for Dior lip wear.

For long lasting colours, go for Chanel.

BB cream

Since awhile ago, alot of people had been talking incessantly about the wonders of BB cream and i being the vainpot that i am, got very excited about it as well.

The first time, i tried the BRTC bb cream at Chris's Birthday chalet but it did not work out for me. It oxidised, turned a little oily and magnified my pores so i decided to stick to my Chanel base.

Today, Yvonne told me that she bought the BB cream for me from Korea and instead of the BRTC one, she got me the one from Etude house.

Etude house? very good impression. Because Song Hae Kyo endorsed it awhile back.

The best part about this purchase is that it came with so many free gifts!

My favourite is the eye mask!!! The lacy band with the little hearts makes it sucha adorable and sexy thing to wear to bed!

I've been looking around for one perfect one for the longest time and i think i just found it =)

Its not too tight, very soft and very pretty as well.

i am soo happy =))))

Next, there is this full sized pressed powder that came with it, as well as 2 other bottles and 2 small packets of stuff which i am unsure about.

The instructions are all in korean so yea........... i think i need to do a little internet research on it.
