A beautiful wedding

It was the beautiful wedding of L and I and my family were really excited about it!
L's mum and my mum had been neighbors and best friends for the longest time and we practically grew up together.
it wasn't so long ago when we were going to primary school and then starting our teenage lives. Now, we are getting married one by one. Time flies past without us knowing it and suddenly, there is so much past to look back and reminisce about.

the couple was so beautiful that night!

Love the grand ballroom, love the flower display :)

Wore my tweed jacket for the wedding, love the studs on it and i certainly wish that SG is not as warm and humid so that i can wear it more often.

Before long, we started playing around with our phones and here comes the pictures... Miss I.

Miss T

My beautiful mum looking good in her floral top.

Demonstrating the flicking hair motion. hahaha.

Finally, one with the gorgeous bride!!

band for the night was awesome. beautiful wedding, beautiful people and a room full of love.

Have a blessed weekend.

mix and match

Just a week before G left for a weeks trip to London, we went to catch the Russell Peters show at the indoor stadium and me, being in something which i haven't wore for the longest time decided to have some pictures taken and it is a good thing that we did that because that very week, i put the beautiful vest into the dryer not knowing that it would shrink.

the vest is now about half the size of what it used to be. :(

i read a lot of blogs everyday, mainly makeup and fashion blogs and i greatly admire the authors of fashion blogs especially because i love looking at what others are wearing.

i also feel that it is important that we capture what we wear as clothes come and go, sometimes, you just move on to another style after some time so its nice to keep a record :)

i would love to be able to do something like a daily outfit diary on a more consistent basis but as i do not have a photographer, i will instead try to take some pictures of my pairings on its own in future.

meanwhile, i do have these 3 pictures of me in the vest before it got destroyed.

the week G left for London, my mum and one of my sister came to my place on one saturday night and my sister took a nice pic of me the next morning before we went for a casual birthday lunch.

we decided to rope my mum in for pictures too, much to her excitement. :))

its the second day of the week tomorrow. i hope that weekend comes soon. can't wait as we will be celebrating my mum's birthday!

Xmas

My previous posting disappeared without a trace and I dunno if it has anything to do with the size of my pictures but I'm going to try again.

Let's see if this post goes up fine.

It was a lovely weekend spent with my family.

Family day

Staying over at my mum's place today and I'm so happy to be back here.
It doesn't matter how long I've been away or how it doesn't have those fragrance which I used to spray all over the place, it's still so close to my heart and I feel right at home the moment I'm near yishun :)

Lying on the bed which I've slept on for so many years.. It's not as expensive as the one I'm
Sleeping on now but it's that same old feeling of satisfaction I get whenever I lay on it.

This room and everything in it was put in by me. I chose the colours, their positions and I've spent too many happy, sad, blissful and heartbroken days in here.
It's been a long time since I've been back here , having it to myself once again.

I love how everything is so simple here and I love how nothing has changed.
Above all, I love my funny family. My drama mum, my very funny sisters and this old house we call home.

I think it's important that we know the roles that we are supposed to play at different stage of our lives and it's only when we fulfill our role at that time that we live it to the best that we can.
Gossip less, judge less, listen more and stop interrupting.
Give room to others for their opinions.... And no, no one should tell another how to live their life.
Choose your friends wisely but also ask yourself what do you have to offer.
Make more friends than enemies because everyone deserves a chance and no one would do anything to hurt another if they have alternatives.

Really, gossip lesser is good for us all. I'm getting more and more tired of listening to gossips.
It does nothing good to the spirit.
Contribute some love to this world, spread those love and gain some smiles :)

Goodnight world with its beautiful people. I'm going to have the sweetest dreams and I hope you enjoy your night too.

Alone

G left for USA again yesterday morning and it will be Monday again tomorrow.
Weekend always fly past too soon.

On Saturday , I finally got the jiemei's dress all settled. Followed by coffee with S n W and then a further meet up with the musician S.
Spent the night alone at home and today, I had a good sleep, all the way till noon, took my time to potter about the house before leaving again to shop for the dinner gown with my mum n my sis.

Decided to come back to pasir ris to spend some more alone time.

I think 'me time' is a very important and precious moment that everyone should have.
Even when G is in sg, I always try to sneak my own 'me time' out.
Be it watching the recorded shows on my own, reading my books, just surfing the net, drinking my coffee, making a salad and then enjoying it slowly while he goes to work, it's very therapeutic and it's essential to keep me happy.

I miss having him around the house but I also enjoy being alone and not necessarily doing anything at all.
Until he's back again to annoy me, I shall do what I do best. Which is , pottering around and not necessarily getting anything done.

Work days are too hectic. Weekends should be like this :) having tea with your loved ones, spending time with them
And then with yourself.
I don't remember loving to be alone as much as now.
Might be an age thing. Maybe I don't need to prove anything anymore and when you are with yourself, you don't have to explain , you don't have to listen to things which you don't want to. It refreshes the spirit magically ;)

May God bless me n G n everyone with a beautiful week ahead.

Food tasting

I think that one of the most enjoyable part of preparing for the wedding is actually the food tasting part.

We totally enjoyed our food tasting and I actually can't wait to have them again!

According to some urban myth, the bride and groom rarely get a chance to have their dinner that night.
I'll be very sad if that happens to me too. ( will get someone to save the food for me )

The first dish which is also my favorite dish. Every item is amazing here and I love love love the lobster salad!

We opted for braised lobster in an effort to save our friends in the sea- the sharks.
The soup wasnt so great at all thus we have changed it to truffle soup with 4 treasures but unfortunately , we do not know what the 4 treasures are.

Garlic chicken with curry leaves.
This dish is so good! I love the taste of the crispy garlic mixed with the crispy curry leaves.
No fats at the skin of the chicken too.

Abalone with sea cucumber and seasonal vegetables.

Cod fish with teriyaki sauce.
Gary loves this but as I'm not a fan of cod fish, I'll skip it.
(will remind whoever is saving the food for me to omit this)

After this dish, my phone battery went flat.

I'll try to update more info about our food when I can.
Might be after the wedding though!

Goodnight!

Ivy 姐's birthday!

We went to crystal jade for my dearest mum's birthday this year!

It was such a nice and heartwarming dinner because our favorite people were all present!

My mum was beaming from ear to ear throughout the dinner and even had a little speech at the end to announce how happy she was. Ahem. My Drama thing might be in the blood. From
You-know-who.

Anyway, I'm
Already thinking of ways we can celebrate her bday in the coming year! Must throw a big party for her. :))

There's actually still a picture of my 5th aunt but it's just not loading on my phone thus I can't upload it.

Ps: the fruitcake was really yummy! I love fruit cakes which are generous with the fruits. This one had big strawberries! Loves ~~~~~

I wish my dearest Ivy 姐 will be healthy, happy and that she will feel at peace with everything in her life! And hopefully she slims down abit too so that she can wear a greater variety of clothes :)

Happyness

My happiness is directly linked to the amount of chocolate and seafood which I consume.

I'm on my way to a good amount of happiness and I hope ivy Jie have fun too.

My mum

My mum, also known as ivy jie is right now, STILL playing mahjong even though she already arranged to have dinner with me tonight at northpoint.

-_-

Naermind. I forgive her since she cooked some nice prawns for me today.

Oh did I mention that everytime we praise her for a certain dish, she cooks the same thing everyday for at least a week?

Haha.

That's Ivy Jie.

bother!

So, Christine is back for 2 weeks from Melbourne afterwhich, she will be gone till i-cannot-imagine-when and i finally passed her the wedding gift!
i am soooo late, i am still embarassed about it and to my dearest cha-cha, i haven't forgotten your birthday gift and i promise tt i will get it sorted out really soon!!!!!
i strive to be the most meticulous friend after today.
now now.......you all really have something to look forward to!

My very-hip-mum had been very intrigued by the white tigers ever since they appeared on the headlines and without checking and knowing that they are only available at the day zoo coupled with the fact that we all hate the sun, we went to the night safari!

of course, no one saw any white tigers and the lions and tigers were all snoozing away when the tram drove past their habitat and in the end, the scariest animal that night was the Hyena (the way it runs around was pretty nerve wrecking! i feel like a prey already!) and the snake. (later)

Did you all know that tigers can sleep up to 20 hours a day?
and did you know that sleeping lesser than 6 hours a day makes you cranky and irritable?

Ida left us to join her friends halfway through the trip and that means, it was only left with me and my mum to shriek our way through the animal show while Gary was as usual, the macho man who doesn't flinch at anything.
except maybe when the iphone drops.
or when apple shares drop.
or when his mac book is conking out soon.

The show was typical except this part when they brought out this HUGE snake from under the audience seat that got me and my mum screeching away.
you see, my mum is soooo afraid of snakes that she gets nightmares when she watches them on tv and there we were, sitting there while they took out a gigantic, long and thick snake not that far from us.
the moment the snake was out, she kept grabbing hold of my arms and screeched away.
and there i was, staring hard, laughing hard and screeching away too because it was simply too eeeeewwww!
snakes are sooo creepy!

no pics of the snake though but it took 4 adults to hold it.

*shivers*

ps: my mum highlighted a few times that she would absolutely be dead already if they had brought out the snake from our seats. based on her screeches, i totally believe her.
